The Boonville High School Junior Varsity and Varsity Volleyball teams received an IHSAA Exemplary Report last night from their game at Washington. One of the officials wrote: "Boonville JV and Varsity volleyball teams were disciplined with their play and accommodating. Their setters were stationary prior to serve, they did not use a walking start on service contact. Player numbers were visible to report substitutes. The players stood staggered and pulled their long hair off of the uniform number while in the substitution zone. Plus, no jewelry was worn and they were ready to play when play resumed. These attributes made officiating very pleasant and enjoyable for my partner and myself." Boonville High School's Head Coach Kirby Alstadt stated regarding the Exemplary Report: "The officials knew the rules, allowed the girls to play and encouraged our athletes to speak up if they had questions. I truly appreciate seeing officials who not only know the rules but also used the opportunity to teach and empower our players. Their professionalism and approach made a positive impact on our team and the night." Congratulations to our Lady Pioneer Volleyball program for their continued approach of being respectful to officials, their opponents and the game of volleyball.
