Girls soccer played host to the Central Bears on Saturday morning. The game was extremely exciting, with both teams proving to be quite the match for each other. The Pioneers dominated the first 15 minutes, creating multiple opportunities, but the half ended all square. In the second half the pioneers gave up an early goal, but they never stopped trying to get back in it. With less than 3 minutes to play, Faith Kilgore was taken down just inside the box, earning the team a penalty kick. Ellie Tieman Stepped up to the spot and buried a perfect shot. Tieman showed tremendous bravery and composure in the moment. Sadly, Boonville returned the favor and gave up a penalty to the bears with 27 seconds left on the clock. Central converted and held on to win 2-1. Boonville has an opportunity to get back after it on Monday night when they face Princeton. We will be celebrating senior night, so please bring the energy and excitement to the stands!
