The Lady Pioneer soccer team was in action on Tuesday night vs the North Posey Vikings. Boonville had been on the end of a rough losing streak, but they worked their tails off and broke the streak with a solid 1-0 victory. So many players put in a solid performance that it's hard to list them all. Hadley Hart was outstanding in goal, making several last chance saves to keep the Vikings out of the net. In the first half, the pioneers dominated possession, creating one on one chances for Ellie Tieman and Faith Kilgore. Despite their efforts, the score was tied 0-0 at the half. The pioneers quickly broke the dead lock within a minute or two of the 2nd half kick-off, when Morgan Poellein danced her way through the midfield, after collecting line-breaking pass from Lydia Lemond, and drove into the Viking's box and struck the ball past the keeper. BHS stayed locked in for the rest of the game, with a fantastic effort from a defensive line made up of Savannah Simpson, Nikki Snow, Kayla Weiss, Irie Squires, and Alexis Sinani. The coaches are so proud of your effort, ladies. The pioneers are back in action Thursday when they travel to Forest Park.
