The girls soccer team headed north to take on the Southridge Raiders on Monday evening. The game ended in another defeat for the pioneers, but the team is continuing to progress and play better soccer at every position. Several players were asked to take up new positions to find how to get the most out of our lineup. Elie Tieman had another solid night in goal, only allowing in goals from 1 on 1 scenarios and one insanely good strike that nobody would have stopped. Lydia Lemond and Nikki Snow battled in the double role of center defensive mids. Morgan Poellien was moved up to striker where she caused so much chaos for the opposing defense. Mad Dog Strahle, Faith Kilgore, Paisley Fuquay, and Audri Payne were relentless on the wings. Reese Ransom was back at her usual energy level, acting lake the Tasmanian Devil all over the midfield. Lastly, Karolina Golub, our Polish exchange student, got her first start of the year and played every single minute! Great effort ladies! After the Varsity game the teams competed in a JV half of soccer, which ended in a 2-2 draw. Scoring for the pioneers were Mad Dog Strahle and Haley Watson! Katie Davis had a phenomenal game in center mid, battling for every loose ball. Great job ladies! The pioneers travel to South Spencer on Wednesday to finish their 4th road game in a row.
