The regional at Country Oaks was extremely competitive and deep this year! The 3 advancing schools all shot sub 300 scores to advance, which meant that Boonville came up just short of advancing, despite shooting the best 18 hole team score of their season. The team placed 4th in a stacked field of 15 teams, one spot away from the finals. Cash Willis battled to turn in a 75 and finish T-17. Will Whyte set a new PR with a 79, his first 18 hole score in the 70s. Wyatt Belcher shot a solid 81, and Emmitt Roy followed behind with an 82, ultimately winning a 5th man tiebreaker to take 4th. Although the team is not moving on, senior Mason Mills punched his ticket to the state finals, shooting a round of 70 (-2), to tie for 2nd place overall in the field. This is a huge accomplishment, one that Mason has been striving towards for many years. Mason will be competing at the IHSAA State Finals at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel on Tuesday and Wednesday.
