On Wednesday, December 13th, John Felts from Mayor Tom Henry's Office proudly recognized Claire McFarland for her heroic, and courageous act of performing life-saving measures on a student during a medical emergency back in November. Here is what John read: "Hello everyone, I'm John Felts from Mayor Tom Henry's Office. Mayor Henry was unavailable to be here today due to a family matter, but I'm here on behalf of Mayor Henry and the City of Fort Wayne to present the Certificate of Excellence Award to Claire McFarland. The Certificate of Excellence is presented to a resident or individual who went above and beyond the call of duty to help someone in a time of need, showcased bravery, and served our community through leadership. It goes without saying Claire is very deserving of this recognition. Additionally, Claire is just one of four Fort Wayne residents to receive the Certificate of Excellence award this year, making this a special recognition. If I may, the award reads.....
