Bison Run Strong at North White Invite

North White Invitational – Bison Cross Country Recap The Benton Central Cross Country teams opened their season at the North White Invitational on Saturday, August 23rd, with both the girls and boys squads turning in strong performances against a competitive field of area schools. Girls Recap The Lady Bison placed 4th overall with 84 points, led by three top-10 finishes. Loralei Rayman earned the runner-up spot in 21:44. Maddie Peterson followed closely, taking 3rd place in 21:59. Maggie Rayman added a strong 7th place finish in 23:05. Samiyah Rich (27:09) and Allie Wuethrich (30:17) rounded out the scoring. Washington Township claimed the team title with 48 points, followed by West Central (65) and Tri-County (81). Boys Recap The Benton Central boys also finished 4th overall, scoring 90 points, with a balanced pack that put four runners in the top 20. Carter Fox led the way with a 4th-place finish in 18:15. Matthew McKinnis (16th, 19:29) and Sam Fleming (17th, 19:30) worked well together through the middle. Grady Rudolph was close behind in 18th (19:31), giving the Bison valuable depth. Jonah Fleming (35th, 20:30) sealed the team score, while Jude Johnson (44th, 21:41) and Ben Caldanaro (50th, 22:28) added strong displacement. Washington Township also captured the boys team championship with 77 points, narrowly edging Rensselaer (83) and Tri-County (84). Looking Ahead With both squads showing depth and competitiveness early in the season, the Bison are set to build on this momentum as they continue their fall schedule.
