West Lebanon, IN - Friday, May 23, 2025 Despite outhitting Seeger 8-0, the Benton Central Varsity Bison came up just short in a tough 4-3 road loss to the Seeger Patriots on Friday evening. Benton Central struck first in the opening frame when Nolan Winkler delivered a double to bring home a run. The Bison would reclaim the lead 2-1 in the fifth inning on a passed ball after Seeger tied the game in the fourth on a wild pitch. Seeger, however, capitalized on late opportunities, scoring three runs in the bottom of the fifth without a hit—using a walk, a pair of groundouts, and disciplined at-bats to edge ahead 4-2. The Bison added one more in the sixth but couldn’t overcome the deficit. Kaydric Tyson turned in a strong start on the mound for Benton Central, striking out 10 over 4 1/3 hitless innings while allowing three runs and four walks. Winkler pitched the final 1 2/3 innings and took the loss, allowing one unearned run while walking four and striking out one. Winkler and Spencer Flook each tallied two hits to lead the Bison offense, with Winkler and Caden Kawlewski driving in one run apiece. Though the Patriots did not record a hit, they made the most of their opportunities, drawing eight walks. Macyn Hughes and Jarrett Smith each drove in a run, and Chase Sichts and Hughes led Seeger with two walks apiece.
