Benton Central's Kate Cox Recognized for Academic and Athletic Excellence

Oxford, IN -- May 19, 2025 Benton Central Junior Kate Cox continues to shine as an exceptional student-athlete, exemplifying excellence both in the classroom and in the community. Ranked 4th in a class of 160, Kate maintains a 4.12 GPA while balancing a rigorous academic load and numerous extracurricular commitments. A leader on and off the court, Kate plays varsity volleyball and competes for North Central Indiana Sand VBC as a 2027 Opposite/Right Side. She brings the same dedication and work ethic to her team as she does to her studies, serving as a team captain and consistently setting an example for her peers. Her academic pursuits are equally impressive. Kate is a member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Honor Society, and serves as a Teaching Assistant in Engineering, showcasing her passion and leadership in STEM. She also holds several student leadership positions, including class officer and secretary, and is an active member of the student council and homecoming committee. Kate's contributions extend well beyond the classroom and athletic arena. She is deeply involved in community service through programs such as Rake & Run, food stand volunteering, Jubilee Christmas, and as a junior leader in 4-H. Her role as a peer leader in religious education and experience as a nanny further reflect her compassion, maturity, and commitment to helping others. With her impressive academic achievements, servant leadership, and athletic prowess, Kate Cox represents the best of Benton Central.
