Violet Hardebeck Wins Hoosier Conference #1 Singles Title

May 10, 2025 — Oxford, IN Benton Central’s Violet Hardebeck made school history this past week by capturing the Hoosier Conference #1 Singles Championship in dominant fashion. The two-day tournament was held at Logansport High School on Thursday, May 8th and Friday, May 9th, and featured the top tennis players from across the Hoosier Conference. On Thursday, May 8 Hardebeck entered the tournament seeded #3 but quickly proved she belonged with the best. She opened with a commanding 6-0, 6-1 win in the quarterfinals over #6 seed , Zimmerman from Logansport HS to advance to the semifinals, where she faced the tournament’s #2 seed from West Lafayette, Emma Garringer. In a hard-fought battle, Violet came out on top in straight sets 6-1, 7-5 to secure a spot in the championship match. In Friday’s final, Hardebeck faced the top-seeded player from Central Catholic High School. Rising to the occasion, Violet delivered another exceptional performance, using her consistency and competitive edge to defeat the #1 seed from Central Catholic, Bliss Ulery and claim the Hoosier Conference crown. With the tournament victory, Hardebeck not only secured the individual #1 Singles title but was also named to the All Hoosier Conference Team, a prestigious honor reserved for the top three finishers tournament. Violet defeating both the #1 and #2 seeds back-to-back shows her focus, toughness, and talent. She represented Benton Central with pride and determination.
