Morocco, IN - 4/21/ 25 Grant Weise drove in four runs on two hits to lead the Benton Central Varsity Bison past North Newton, 6-1, on Monday. Weise launched a three-run home run to center field in the first inning and added an RBI double in the seventh. The Bison got on the board early, thanks to Weise’s first-inning blast, giving Benton Central a quick 3-0 lead. Mason Schutter earned the win on the mound, allowing just one hit and one run over four innings. The lefty struck out seven and walked two. Carter Fox came on in relief and pitched three shutout innings, giving up three hits while striking out three without issuing a walk. Offensively, the Bison tallied 10 hits. Spencer Flook led the way, going a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate. Nolan Winkler added two hits in four at-bats. Benton Central is back in action Tuesday as they host Delphi Community HS at Darrell Snodgrass Field.
