Information provided by Head Coach, Dusty Hughes Benton Central was host to the Bison Stampede Cross Country Invitational this Saturday. 14 schools and over 200 athletes ran the BC 5K course. Cool temperatures and an overcast sky created favorable conditions for the runners. Top finishers for the Bison were Loralei Rayman, who placed 4th for the girls in a time of 21:57 and Sienna Holscher, who was 9th place to earn a ribbon. Carter Fox led the boys with a 10th place run to also earn a ribbon. His time of 17:46 was an all time personal best, beating his previous best by 12 seconds. The Bison ran very well over all. The boys’ team placed 4th. Several of the runners were able to beat their personal bests, including Sienna Holscher (by 5 seconds), Sam Fleming (by 3 seconds), Jude Johnson (by 1 minute 13 seconds), Ben Caldanaro (by 29 seconds), Louie Pyke (by 30 seconds), Dietrich Payne (by 1 minute 3 seconds). You can watch these kids compete next Saturday at Rensselaer at the Big Z Invite. Races begin at 9 am with the girls followed by the boys.
