Lady Bison Volleyball 3-1 at the Crown Point Invitational

On Saturday, September 28, 2024, Benton Central Varsity Volleyball competed in the prestigious 12-team Crown Point Invitational, finishing the day with an impressive 3-1 record. The tournament featured a strong field of talented teams from across the state and region, making Benton Central's performance a standout achievement. In the 10:00 AM Match #1, Benton Central faced a tough opponent in Lake Central (15-7), falling 2-0 (set scores: 20-25, 18-25). However, the Bison quickly regrouped and showcased their resilience in the following matches. At 11:00 AM, Match #2 saw Benton Central defeating Homestead (17-4) in 3 sets, winning 2-1 (set scores: 19-25, 25-21, 15-12) with a combination of strong serving and efficient attacks. In Match #3 at 1:45 PM, the Bison carried their momentum into a convincing 2-0 victory over Elkhart (14-10) (set scores: 27-25, 25-19), capitalizing on excellent defensive plays and well-executed team strategies. The final match of the day, Match #4 at 2:45 PM, saw Benton Central dominate Kankakee Valley (15-9) 2-0 (set scores: 25-13, 25-11), completing the day with a 3-1 overall record. The Bison record now stands at 18-4. Benton Central's performance throughout the tournament demonstrated their competitiveness and determination against top-level teams. The team looks forward to building on this success as the season continues. Benton Central’s upcoming schedule includes three important matchups: Monday, September 30, 2024: Away at South Newton (Freshman & JV at 6:00 PM, Varsity will follow) Tuesday, October 1, 2024: Home vs. Logansport for the "Dig Pink" Cancer Awareness Game (Freshman at 5:30 PM & JV at 6:00 PM, Varsity will follow) Thursday, October 3, 2024: Home vs. McCutcheon (Freshman at 5:30 PM & JV at 6:00 PM, Varsity will follow) The Bison look to build on their strong tournament showing as they head into these key matches.
