Benton Central Jr-Sr High School

The Bison Cross Country teams were invited as a last minute fill in team to the Rossville Hornet Invite Tuesday. Our runners voted overwhelmingly to add the meet as we prepare for the end of the season. The course was unfamiliar and one of the more difficult of our season but didn’t stop our teams from another successful night.  Our girls ran to the front of the pack from the start and built a size-able lead. Maggie Rayman kept up the pace, setting a Personal Best time of 20:40 and running herself to a first place medal. Following behind in her second race of the season was Loralei Rayman as she placed second, over a minute and a half in front of third.  The boys had an uphill battle against some tough competition and managed to place second as a team.  First up for the boys was Sam Fleming with a time 18:09, narrowly edging out teammate Matthew McKinnis.  Our midweek meets are few and far between but we will use this as a good lead up to Saturday’s Nike XC Town Twilight at one of the nation’s top courses, Terre Haute’s famous LaVern Gibson.
