Benton Central Jr-Sr High School

Benton Central cross country came off a successful weekend performance at the Harrison Invitational. A quick turnaround over a holiday weekend and the Bison were ready to face off against the Seeger Patriots and Central Catholic Knights at Hanging Rock Christian Camp on Tuesday. The Lady Bison were able to field 3 runners for the first time this season. Race leaders were BC’s freshman Lillian Weigle was the race winner, followed by sophomore Harlo Holder taking second, and rounded off with sophomore Maggie Rayman in 4th. Senior boys Matthew McKinnis and Sam Fleming continued by finishing first and second, followed by Landon Dennis (5th), Louie Pyke (6th), and scoring as our 5th runner was Gideon Fisher (15th). The Bison take a pause from their racing schedule for the next week and a half before heading north to one of the nations top courses to race in the New Prairie Invitational Saturday September 19th.
