For Immediate Release 5/21/2026 The postseason has arrived for Unified Track and Field teams across the state of Indiana, and Indiana High School Athletic Association sectional competition will take center stage this Saturday as Benton Central travels to Kokomo High School for the 2026 Unified Track and Field Sectional. The sectional meet is scheduled to begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 23, with athletes from 10 schools competing for the opportunity to advance in the state tournament series. Participating schools include Benton Central, Bluffton, Delta, Harrison (West Lafayette), Kokomo, Lafayette Jefferson, McCutcheon, Twin Lakes, West Lafayette, and Western. Unified Track and Field continues to be one of the fastest-growing and most inspiring sports in Indiana high school athletics, bringing together student-athletes of all abilities to compete, encourage one another, and represent their schools with pride. Saturday’s sectional promises to showcase outstanding sportsmanship, teamwork, and determination throughout the day. Competition will begin with the Long Jump and Shot Put at 11:00 a.m., followed by running events starting with the 100 Meter Dash Finals at 11:30 a.m. The 400 Meter Dash Finals and the 400 Meter Relay Finals will round out the schedule. Fans attending the event can expect an exciting atmosphere as schools from across north central Indiana gather at Kokomo High School for a celebration of Unified athletics. Admission is $5.00, and gates will open one hour prior to the start of competition. Benton Central’s athletes and coaches have worked hard throughout the season preparing for this opportunity, and the Bison will look to compete with energy, enthusiasm, and pride as they enter postseason competition.
