Benton Central struck first in the opening inning when Sydney Groves drove in a run with a groundout, but Milford answered in the third, using a double and a Bison miscue to reclaim the lead. The game turned sharply in the fourth inning when Milford’s Lucht launched a grand slam to right field, pushing the Lady Cats ahead and putting Benton Central in a deep hole. But the Lady Bison kept chipping away. After staying within striking distance, Benton Central came through in the sixth inning to even the score at 6-6.
