FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Benton Central Athletics Peterson Advances to State Finals, Caps Indoor Season Among Indiana’s Best OXFORD, IN – Benton Central senior Maddie Peterson put together an impressive indoor track season, highlighted by qualifying for and competing in the Indoor Hoosier State Relays State Finals. Peterson first hit a qualifying mark on March 6 at a meet hosted at Purdue University, where she placed 5th overall in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.59 seconds, putting herself in strong position among the state’s top sprinters. Building on that momentum, Peterson competed against Indiana’s elite at the Hoosier State Relays State Finals, this past Saturday, March 28th in the 60-meter dash, finishing 20th overall with a time of 8.31 seconds. Competing on the state stage marked a significant achievement for Peterson, as she represented Benton Central with determination and pride against some of the fastest athletes in Indiana. Maddie’s growth and commitment throughout the season have been outstanding. Qualifying for the state finals and competing at that level is a tremendous accomplishment. We are incredibly proud of her effort and how she represented Benton Central Track & Field. Peterson’s state finals appearance caps a successful indoor season and sets the stage for continued success as she transitions into the outdoor track season.
