DELPHI, Ind. — The Benton Central Bison boys basketball team earned a decisive 63–36 victory over North Montgomery Friday night in the IHSAA Sectional Semifinal at Delphi Community High School. Benton Central controlled the game on both ends of the floor, building momentum early and maintaining it throughout the night to secure a spot in the sectional title game. The Bison were led offensively by Andrew Plassard with 13 points and Wyatt Foster with 12 points, helping power Benton Central to the 27-point victory. With the win, the Bison advance to the Sectional Championship game on Saturday evening, where they will face the Western Boone Stars, who defeated Rensselaer Central 71–48 in the other semifinal contest. The Sectional Championship game will be played Saturday at 7:30 PM at Delphi Community High School, with the winner claiming the sectional title and advancing to next week's Regional Championship game on Saturday, March 14th. Benton Central will be seeking its first Sectional Championship since 2002, as the Bison look to carry the momentum from Friday night’s strong performance into the title matchup.
