Logansport Boys' Wrestling Regional Saturday | February 7 Bison Wrestling Battles to 5th-Place Finish at Logansport Regional The Benton Central boys’ wrestling team delivered an impressive performance at the IHSAA Logansport Regional, hosted Saturday at Logansport High School’s Berry Bowl, finishing 5th overall out of 19 teams competing. Leading the charge for the Bison was Joseph Mendoza (120 lbs), who captured the Regional Championship in dominant fashion. Mendoza sealed the title with a fall over Rensselaer Central’s Kolby Robinson at the 1:31 mark of the championship match, earning Benton Central its lone individual regional title of the day. Benton Central also saw strong finishes from three additional wrestlers, all of whom punched their tickets to Semi-State: Brett Bowman (138 lbs) – 4th Place Kaleb Wallace (150 lbs) – 4th Place Logan Hoaks (215 lbs) – 4th Place With four qualifiers advancing, the Bison will send a strong contingent to the East Chicago Semi-State next Saturday, continuing a successful postseason run for the program.
