FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Benton Central Girls Wrestling Finishes Regional Runner-Up, Advances Four to IHSAA State Finals Kokomo, IN — The Benton Central Girls Wrestling team delivered a tremendous performance on Saturday at the IHSAA Kokomo Regional, finishing as Regional Runner-up after a hard-fought battle that came down to the final points. Benton Central totaled 77 team points, narrowly edged by Rochester High School with 79 points to claim the regional championship. Despite the slim margin, the Lady Bison showcased depth, resilience, and competitiveness throughout the day and will send four wrestlers to the IHSAA State Finals next Friday. The IHSAA Girls Wrestling State Finals will be held at Corteva Coliseum, located at the Indiana State Fairgrounds & Event Center, 1202 E. 38th Street, Indianapolis, next Friday. Individual Results & State Qualifiers: 105 lbs — Laurana Dillon (25–8) placed 4th, falling to Logansport’s Aleyah Kinder (26–4). 110 lbs — CeCe Fisher (25–12) earned Regional Runner-up, advancing to the championship match before falling to Kaidence Lyons (24–6) of Seeger High School. 120 lbs — Sienna Holscher placed 3rd, earning a key victory by decision 9–5 over Terre Haute North’s Anniston Chesshir (32–7). 235 lbs — Sophia Zarate placed 4th, losing a close decision 5–3 to Adi Wert of Twin Lakes. The Lady Bison’s second-place regional finish highlights the continued growth and success of Benton Central’s girls wrestling program, as the team now prepares for the biggest stage of the season.
