The 2026 Avon Girls Track & Field team enters the spring season with high expectations, despite a young roster. While the regular season will provide key opportunities for growth, the Orioles have their sights set on championship success. Avon will host the Girls HCC meet this year, giving athletes the exciting opportunity to compete for a conference title on their home track. After back-to-back runner-up finishes in Sectionals in 2024 and 2025, the team is motivated to take the next step and bring home a championship. Team unity continues to be a focus, as athletes across running and field events build support for one another through daily practice and meet-day energy. That connection will be key as the season progresses towards the championship season. Fans should keep an eye on high jump state finalist junior Peytan Denagall, along with junior thrower Niyah Rozier, and senior Journee Riley in the short sprints who look to lead the team with standout performances. In addition, freshmen distance runners Alena Wigger and Aly Connors and sprinter Bri Carlilse could make an immediate impact and add depth to an already promising squad. With a mix of experienced returners and emerging young talent, the Avon Girls Track & Field team is poised to have a great season and compete at a high level throughout the spring.
