The Avon High School Boys Wrestling program enters the 2025–26 season with high expectations. Following a 4th-place finish at the 2025 IHSAA State Finals, the Orioles return a talented and experienced roster that benefited from a productive offseason. Avon brings back three state place winners from last year’s State Finals. Senior Nathan Rioux, the defending 126-pound state champion, looks to build upon an exceptional career that includes state runner-up finishes at 106 and 113 pounds during his freshman and sophomore seasons. Senior Mason Goelz returns after earning a state runner-up finish at 120 pounds as a junior and a 5th-place finish at 106 pounds as a sophomore. Sophomore Case Bridge also made an impressive debut on the state stage, placing 3rd at 106 pounds last season. Complementing this accomplished trio are four additional wrestlers with state finals experience. Seniors Griffan Larson and Quinten Schoeff, junior Chase Kline, and sophomore Anthony Zuranski each qualified for the state finals in previous seasons and add valuable depth to the lineup. Seniors Logan Ott, Nathan Morawska, and Branden Love aim to conclude their Avon careers with strong seasons, with Morawska and Love returning as semi-state qualifiers. Newcomers MJ Hileman, Noah Goelz, and Samuel Rioux are also expected to contribute immediately. Head Coach Alex Johns enters his fifth season leading the program, supported by an experienced coaching staff that includes Brian Snyder, Mason Miranda, Ryan Konz, Evan Elmore, Brad Smith, and Nathan Conley. With a combination of proven leadership and a committed group of athletes, the Avon Boys Wrestling program is positioned for another successful and competitive season.
