FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Yorktown High School Announces Justin Ullom as New Head Boys Basketball Coach Yorktown, IN – Yorktown High School is excited to announce the hiring of Justin Ullom as the new head coach of the boys basketball program. Ullom joins the Tigers with an impressive varsity head coaching record of 150-113 over eleven seasons at Monroe Central and Muncie Central. A 1996 graduate of Delta High School, Ullom began his coaching career under the guidance of Paul Keller and Stan Daugherty-mentors who have profoundly influenced his coaching philosophy. During his eight seasons at Monroe Central, Ullom led the Golden Bears to a 119-72 record, capturing four Randolph County Tournament titles, a Mid-Eastern Conference championship, and the school’s first sectional title since 2010. His tenure included a remarkable 25-1 season and an undefeated regular season in 2021-22. Ullom then guided Muncie Central for three seasons, further establishing his reputation for building competitive, high-character teams. Off the court, Ullom is an accomplished entrepreneur, having owned and operated successful home service businesses for over two decades. Ullom’s approach to leadership in business mirrors his coaching style: surround yourself with high-character individuals committed to excellence and growth. Ullom and his wife, Sandy, have been married for 25 years and are the proud parents of five sons. He is dedicated to fostering a basketball program that emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and personal growth for student-athletes. “I am honored to join the Yorktown community and lead the Tigers basketball program,” said Ullom. “My goal is to build a culture of high standards, hard work, and integrity on the court and in the classroom. I look forward to working with our student-athletes, their families, and the Yorktown community to achieve great things together.” Yorktown High School Athletic Director Paul Heidenreich expressed enthusiasm for the new hire: “Justin’s experience, leadership, basketball knowledge, and commitment to developing young people make him the ideal choice to lead our program.
