It isn't often that Varsity matches end at 3-1, but with the match having already been decided (Mississinewa was up 3-1), Alysse at 3 Singles was tied 4-4 in the 3rd set super tiebreaker when the match was called due to rain. Alysse had the momentum in her third set breaker, but unfortunately the courts were too slick and we had to call it for safety reasons - Alysse was definitely on her way to victory! Hannah, Alysse, Rhen/Isabelle, and Jules/Georgia all dropped their first sets, but they held their cool, didn't give up, and fought their way to strong showings in the second. This is what we coaches like to see - grit, determination, drive - no matter the circumstances. Well done! And at 1S, Jillian dominated play with a very aggressive mindset, dropping only 2 games. Varsity: 1S - Jillian defeated Cook 6-0,6-2 2S - Hannah lost to Wilson 6-2,6-4 3S - Alysse TIED/DIDN'T FINISH against Arbogast, dropping the first set 1-6, winning commandingly in the second set breaker 7-6(4), and then was tied 4-4 in third set super tiebreaker 1D - Rhen/Isabelle lost to Black/Frantz 6-1,6-2 2D - Jules/Georgia lost to Joseph/Kern 6-3,6-4 At Junior Varsity, rain cut the matches short as well. Down 2-3 overall, Sofia/Ana were up 3-1 in their match, and Caity/Emilee were on serve at 2-3 - so we were on our way to to a 4-3 victory! 1S - Claire lost to Hawk 6-3 2S - Addison lost to Munday 6-1 1D - Ryleigh/Emma defeated Berryman/Gray 6-3 2D - Adrianna/Nicky defeated Black/Platt 6-1 PB - Lexi/Dejah lost to Berryman/Gray 6-0 PB - Natalia/Emilee lost to Hawk/Munday 6-0 PB - Sophia/Avery lost to Black/Platt 6-1 PB - Sofia/Ana were up against Hawk/Munday 3-1 PB - Caity/Emilee were down against Berryman/Gray 2-3 Varsity and JV are both 3-1 in the regular season, with a lot more matches coming up next week! Next up for JV is a JV-only match against Delta on Monday @ home at 5:15, and Varsity/JV are @ Burris on Wednesday at 5:45. Let's go Tigers, and I hope everyone enjoys many blessings this Easter!
