This past week, severe storms and flooding left parts of our community in need of care and support. In true Oiler spirit, Whiting student-athletes stepped up to lend a helping hand, joining cleanup efforts at local homes impacted by the damage. From hauling debris to clearing out flooded areas, our athletes showed that teamwork doesn’t stop at the field or court—it extends to serving the people who cheer them on every day. The effort was a reminder of the strength that comes from unity and togetherness. By working side by side with neighbors, our student-athletes not only helped restore homes but also brought encouragement to families facing a difficult time. Their willingness to give back reflects the values of leadership, responsibility, and compassion that define Whiting Athletics. We are proud of our Oilers for demonstrating what it means to represent both their school and their city. Community is at the heart of everything we do, and this experience showed the positive impact our student-athletes can make beyond competition.
