Our varsity boys and girls cross country teams competed at the New Prairie Invite on Saturday, one of the largest cross country meets in the state of Indiana! It was definitely a day to remember. 🌧️ After a two-hour weather delay, our runners made the most of their time, even playing volleyball in the gym while waiting for the lightning to clear. Once they finally got the green light to race, they were met with a course that was more like a slip-and-slide than a cross country course—wet, muddy, and incredibly challenging. But our Oilers didn’t let the conditions slow them down. They went out with one goal: have fun, compete, and enjoy the experience together. And judging by the smiles and energy throughout the day, they accomplished exactly that! A special shoutout to Braulio Cachu, who battled through the tough conditions and still managed to set a new personal record! 👏🔥 While the weather may not have cooperated, the day provided something even more valuable—unbreakable team chemistry and memories that these athletes will carry with them for a long time.
