Yesterday was a battle for our boys and girls cross country teams as they opened their season at TF South High School! Coming off a brutal heat wave, the conditions were tough from start to finish. Add in a course that had been damaged by fallen trees and holes throughout the course, and our runners had plenty working against them. Our athletes made it to the finish line, battled the heat and course conditions. A special shoutout to Victoria Pelayo, who battled her way to a top-percentile finish among the field! The season is just getting started, and we couldn’t be prouder of the grit and determination our runners showed today. Keep running, Oilers!
