Earlier this year, Whiting Athletics launched FUEL (Focused • United • Engaged • Leaders), a student-athlete leadership program designed to empower student leaders to positively impact our athletic department and school community. FUEL members are committed to promoting sportsmanship, developing leadership skills, encouraging school spirit, serving others, and creating a positive culture both on and off the field of play. As part of this initiative, a select group of FUEL student-athletes had the opportunity to attend the IHSAA Student Leadership Conference in Indianapolis. Throughout the day, students participated in engaging leadership sessions led by motivational speakers who challenged them to lead with character, integrity, and purpose. They also took part in interactive safe-driving activities, explored strategies for supporting teammates and classmates, and learned how small acts of leadership can make a lasting impact within their schools and communities. The experience also included a tour of the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway, giving students the chance to visit one of Indiana’s most historic landmarks while reflecting on the values of perseverance, teamwork, and excellence. Whiting Athletics is proud of our FUEL leaders for representing our school with class and enthusiasm. We look forward to seeing these student-athletes apply what they learned as they continue to strengthen our athletic programs, serve as positive role models, and help build a culture of excellence throughout Whiting Athletics.
