The 8th grade JH basketball team traveled to South Montgomery on Thursday night. The Stars got off to a slow start against the Mounties and battled back to a close the gap to 5 at the half. The second half the Stars came out shooting better and driving to the bucket and scoring. The 4th quarter was back and forth and was a 3 point game with 9 seconds left after Mounties hit 2 free throws. Stars inbound and Tim Boddicker hit a 3 pointer to send game to Overtime. Stars went shot for shot and were down 1 and sealed game at free throw line and forcing an errant pass to runout the clock for 41-40 win. Tim Boddicker led Stars with 22, Owen Young and Kolton Mitchell 6, Noah Baird 3, Rowan Eastwood 2. Kane Jackson had some big stops and rebounds to help in comeback. The Stars B team also got a win in their first game. The game was even all the way and the Stars held on for a 30-28 win. The Stars were led by Gage Wilson 16, Carson Richardson 6, Corbin Wilt 4, Marshal Keith and Anthony Snoke 2. The Stars play Saturday in Monon Classic at Frankfort. With exceptional effort, we were able to win in a 50-25 blowout. We limited them to about 3 offensive rebounds, a huge improvement from Tuesday. Our boys ran the fastbreak, adding to a ton of assists and layups we got. We shot 3/5 from the 3-point line. Scoring: Potter 19, Harrison 8, Devol 8, Linton 8, Fields 7.
