The WeBo Girl’s Varsity Soccer team travelled to Carmel and left with a 1-0 win against the University High School Trailblazers on Thursday. The Stars defense continued to shine as they have now only allowed 1 goal in their last 4 matches. Facing regular attacks from University, WeBo maintained their poise and countered with quick strategic runs of their own before finally breaking through in the final 15 minutes when Eisley Whitely was fouled on the sideline just outside the penalty box. Becca Keyes freekick was pressured by Lindsey Steimel who got the rebound from the Trailblazer goalkeeper, leading to a quick strong scoring shot from Clara Stanfield. Next week the Stars complete their regular season schedule by hosting Frankfort for Senior Night (Tuesday, 5:30 pm start for varsity, followed by JV) and travelling to Crawfordsville (Thursday, 5:30 pm start for varsity, followed by JV).
