The 7th Grade Stars opened their season with a dominating 38-0 win over the host team Sheridan Blackhawks. Jackson Potter, Corey Boggs (2), Blake Warmoth (2) all scored Rushing touchdowns and Lukas Harrison (2), Weston Richardson, and Tate Wood scored 2 pt conversions. The Offensive Line of Brannon Gadbury, Connor Palmer Drake Wagner, Tate Fields Caleb Douglas dominated up front. Defensively the Stars were lead by Palmer, Harrison, Sawyer Lyles, and Douglas holding the Blackhawks to 1 first down for the entire game. The 8th grade football team opened their 2024 campaign with a 24-12 loss to host Sheridan. After a shaky start offensively, the Stars were still able to grab an early lead 6-0. From there, however, the Blackhawks were able to mostly assert their will, while steadily pulling away to lead 24-6. Despite that margin, the Stars continued to battle to the end. Defensively, the Stars managed a couple of second half stops and the offense closed the scoring for the night with their best drive of the game, highlighted by a couple of high effort plays. Scoring for the Stars were Charlie Jones and Noah Baird, both rushing. Additionally, Tyson Riner, Colton Mitchell, Kane Jackson as well as others, provided great effort on both sides of the ball. The Stars will host rival Lebanon next Tuesday.
