Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The Western Boone Stars got a bye in Sectional 25 of the IHSAA tournament only to meet conference and county rival Lebanon Tigers for the third time this season. The Stars got all the runs they would need in the first inning sending all 9 to the plate and scoring 5 runs. They would pick up an insurance run in the 5th on their way to a 6-1 win and advancing to the Sectional Championship tomorrow. Gabby Lewis got the start and the win going 4 innings giving up 1 run on 2 hits while striking out 9. Ally Lewis came in relief in the 5th pitching 3 shutout innings giving up 2 hits and striking out 3. The Stars racked up 11 hits in the contest and were led at the plate by Ally Lewis, Emma Shirley, and Kenzlei Mathews all with multiple hits in the contest. The Stars are back in action tomorrow as they tack on the Tri-West Bruins in the Sectional title game at 6pm.
