5/13 Recap The Western Boone Stars Softball team hosted the Southmont Mounties last night and picked up their 12th conference win of the season in 5-3 fashion as they honored their Seniors Emma Shirley and Gabby Lewis. Gabby Lewis got the start and pitched a complete game allowing 0 earned runs on 5 hits, 3 walks and striking out 15 Mounties. The Stars recorded 9 hits on the evening with Emma Shirley and Dottie Wilson collecting 2 hits each in the win. It only seemed appropriate as the final two outs were recorded by the seniors as Shirley gunned down an attempted steal for the 2nd out of the 7th and Gabby followed that 3 pitches later by recording a strike out to end the evening. The Stars are back in action tonight as they travel to Crawfordsville to try and complete the sweep of the Mounties at Southmont Highschool.
