The Stars Varsity baseball team took advantage of a great opportunity to play at minor league Loeb Stadium Monday. The Stars gave up a run in the top of the first, but never blinked. In the home half of the first, Hawkins singled to start the game and then Jackson Grimes made it 2-1 Stars with a towering bomb to right field. Quinn Westerfeld scored two pitches later as a ball to the left field wall afforded him the opportunity to touch all four bases. Offense was lead by Cole Wiley’s 5 RBIs and Gavin Hawkins 3 for 4 effort. The Stars got production up and down the the lineup for a final of 12-4. The story of the night was the phenomenal pitching of senior Hunter Brose. The right hander allowed only 2 earned runs against 5Ks and only walked 1 in his 6 innings of work. Brose earned Player of the Game and did a great job of protecting the bullpen as the Stars are set to face Conference foe Danville the next two evenings.
