Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The Western Boone Stars Track & Field teams traveled to Crawfordsville in the first ever 4-way meet between future Monon Athletic Conference schools of North Putnam, Cascade, and Crawfordsville. It was a beautiful evening for some great performances, and the Stars did just that – many student-athletes beat their season/personal bests and scored a good amount of points on both teams. The highlight for the boys was the 4x100m Relay team of Klyde McKeighan, Mason Adams, Philip Talbott, and Marcus Fortner winning in an excellent race. The highlights for the girls were Lily Shirley winning the 100m Dash, and the 4x400m Relay team of Lily Shirley, Samantha Jones, Kate Higer, and Raegan Durbin winning in big fashion. Lily Shirley broke the school record in the girls 100m Dash with an official time of 12.40, beating the previous record of 12.5 from 1993 set by Trina Hicks.
