Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The Western Boone High School Track and Field teams travelled to Danville Tuesday afternoon for their second meet of the season. Hopes of pleasant weather quickly changed to rain and caused havoc with the timing system. Official times were not recorded but the events were still able to be placed. The boys team was bested by the Warriors but the girl's team was victorious by placing first in 9 of 15 events including first through third finishes in the High Jump and 300 Meter Low Hurdles. Despite the conditions, every member of this team showed up to perform at their best and showed how much effort they have been putting in their training. Highlights of the competition include a second place finish by Alex Crockett in the 3200 meter race, Mason Tomes with a second place finish in the 100 meter dash, Bailey Haag with a first place finish in the mile, Samantha Jones finishing first in the 400 meter and 800 meter races, Lily Shirley taking 1st in the 100 meter and 200 meter dash, Raegan Durbin with a first place finish in the 300 meter hurdles, a first in the 3200 meter relay team of Kate Higer, Bailey Keyes, Hanna Bowman, and Samantha Jones, and a first place finish for the 400 meter relay team of Becca Keyes, Ki'erra Koch, Lillie Cripe, and Lily Shirley.
