FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Monon Athletic Conference (MAC) On February 22, 2024, the executive committee, consisting of Principals and Athletic Directors of the eight (8) founding member school; Crawfordsville High School, Cascade High School, Frankfort High School, Greencastle High School, North Montgomery High School, North Putnam High School, Southmont High School and Western Boone Jr.-Sr. High School unanimously voted to adopt a conference constitution, name and logo. The name of the new athletic conference is the Monon Athletic Conference (MAC). The name “Monon” was selected as a symbol of history and connection. The eight (8) founding schools sit directly along or within the old Monon Railroad corridor that connected Chicago to Indianapolis and Louisville for nearly a century. The first year of the Monon Athletic Conference will be the 2025-26 school year. ###
