Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The Jr. High girls basketball teams split with the North Montgomery Chargers on Wednesday night. In the opening game of the night the 7th Grade lost a tough one on the road 24-19. The Lady Stars were up on the score board through the first three quarters, but failed to close the game out strong giving up their lead in the last few minutes to an aggressive Charges group. Caydence Paris ended the game with 10, Lyla Kinsler followed with 5, while Kensley Blankenship and Jerzie Nelson had 2 each in the game. The 8th Grade Stars came home with a victory on Wednesday night on their end beating the charging Chargers 10-16. The girls got off to a good start with Vivyan Haltom scoring a quick easy 2, followed in the next few possessions by Alexa Massingill burying a three from the wing giving the team a quick 5-point cushion to start. The Stars defense remained steady throughout the game and they were able to close it out giving them their third win of the season. The team was led in scoring by Vivyan Haltom with 13, followed by Alexa Massingill with 3. The Jr. High Girls teams will be back on the court Wednesday, 2/14, at Crawfordsville to face the Athenians.
