Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The 7th and 8th grade girls’ basketball teams lost their second straight to the Tri-West Bruins on Tuesday night. In the 7th grade game the final score ended up being 20-32, with Tri-West coming out on top. The Stars played hard but were overcome by the Bruins size and speed that generated too many easy looks at the basket. The team was lead in scoring by Lyla Kinsler who battled inside all night and ended up with 6, she was followed by Caydence Paris’s 5. Ashton Pelley, Jerzie Nelson, Kinlee Witte, and Kensley Blankenship added 2 each, while Brooklyn Wagner put in a free throw with 1. The 8th grade Lady Stars ran into another tough opponent in their game on Tuesday night. The Stars got into trouble early struggling with the Bruins aggressive press that allowed Tri-West to jump out to a big early lead. The girls battled all the way through but eventually ran out of steam losing 12-42. Western Boone was led in scoring by Elle McLaughlin who had 5. Vivyan Haltom put in 3, while Raina Lutz and Kaelynn Grant added 2 each. The Jr. High Stars will get an opportunity to get back in the win column on Monday, February 5th, traveling on the road to Speedway.
