Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

It was the perfect night for running at the David Landes Invitational, a meet honoring the life and legacy of David Landes. With cooler temperatures and a course our Stars had already raced earlier this season, everything was lined up for our runners to put their hard work and speed workouts into action. They did exactly that! Every single Western Boone runner either set a new personal record (PR) or ran a season's best! We even had a few runners break PRs that had stood for more than a year. It was an incredible night of racing for our entire team. The meet was also a great night for all of the teams competing. The girls' course record was broken by a runner from Monrovia, which was exciting to see. We love seeing great performances all around! The Star boys had an outstanding night, finishing 2nd overall as a team. Leading the way was Liam Sartin, finishing 7th overall and 1st for the Stars with a huge new personal record of 11:39. Wyatt Delp was right behind him, finishing 8th overall with a new PR of 11:42. Gabriel Threlkeld finished 18th overall with a season's best of 12:56. Daniel Trittin came in 25th overall with a new PR of 13:21. Rounding out our boys was Logan Clements, finishing 27th overall with a new PR of 13:43. Our Lady Stars had an incredible night as well, finishing 4th overall as a team. Hayley Trojnar led the way, finishing 9th overall and 1st for the Stars with an impressive new personal record of 12:51, shaving over 40 seconds off her previous PR. Kinley Bivens followed with a new PR of 14:18, finishing 21st overall. Alisha Manning had one of the biggest breakthroughs of the night, finishing 24th overall in 14:27, smashing a personal record that had been incredibly difficult to break for more than a year, shaving 30 seconds off her previous PR! Taylor Martin continued her season of continuous improvement, finishing 26th overall with another new PR of 14:51. Skyler Yarger finished 32nd overall with a season's best of 15:42. Lydia Boggs ran a season's best of 16:49, finishing 37th overall. Ruthie Manning rounded out our Lady Stars with a new PR of 16:56, finishing 39th overall. What a Night! There is so much to be proud of from this meet. Every runner walked away with something to celebrate, whether it was a new PR, a season's best, or simply seeing all of those hard weeks of training finally come together on race night. We are so proud of our Stars!
