Our junior high girls soccer team came out with mental toughness Thursday night knowing they were going to play a strong, fast, older, and skilled Crawfordsville team. Despite being outsized by older girls on the opposing team, playing on a turf field, and ultimately being mercy ruled 0-8, our young team worked hard each minute of the game to adjust their play and connect together as a team. As coaches, we’ve noticed that each game they are improving in skill, but also in attitude and confidence. We’re proud of how hard our girls fought to the end. And we are excited to see where this program goes in years to come because of their toughness and resilience. 8th grade goalkeeper, Violet Hillger, had 14 saves in the goal. Crawfordsville had 26 shots on goal. Violet has shown her ability to challenge herself and to make crucial plays when her team needs it most. We have one last game of regular season before we enter our conference tournament. Our girls take on Greencastle at home on Tuesday. Come support them as they end their season and move into conference on October 3 where they will compete against Frankfort.
