Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The Stars traveled to Southmont on Monday for a quick rematch with the Mounties after the two teams battled to a tie last week. This time the Stars came out with a strong performance to win 1 - 0. The Stars had a big opportunity early with a penalty shot from inside the box that initially failed. However, the Stars crashed the goal after the try and finally knocked the ball into the net. Maddox Linton with the goal to give us the early 1 - 0 lead. It was defense with offense the rest of the way. The Stars had several scoring chances and shots on goal but were not able to hit the back of the net again. The defense was up to the task. Any move onto the Stars side of the field was quickly stopped. Defensive standouts were Joseph Boddicker, Brayden Burns, Lukas Pemberton, John Schaumberg, Landon Huffer & Gael Munoz-Gastelum. It was a great team win. Everyone continues to improve, fighting for ball positions and physically getting stronger. The Stars have a big test on Thursday night. The Frankfort Hot Dogs will come to Western Boone to take on the Stars.
