Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The High School Cross Country team faced fierce competition in rainy weather competing at the Ben Davis 62nd Annual Invite over the weekend. Joan Gearheart finished first for the Lady Stars in 31st place with a time of 22:59, followed closely by Abigayle Humphrey in 33rd place (23:03). Claire Torp finished in 24:40, followed by Harmony Gilbrech in at 29:14. In the Reserve race Katrina Brewer ran for a season best time and 12th place ribbon (27:16), followed by Britney Richwine with a season best time and 13th place ribbon (27:32) and Adalyn Sartin with a season best time and 17th place ribbon (28:28). For the boys races, Aiden Lester was first to cross the finish line for the Stars in 31st (17:38), followed closely by Brennen Bivens who finished with a lifetime best of 17:41 making Western Boone's All-Time list. Ari Smith ran for a new PR (18:14) and 51st place. Charlie Jones and Caleb Crockett challenged each other with a sprint to the end with Jones in 87th (19:35) and Crockett in 88th with a lifetime best time of 19:36. Rex Stanley finished in 20:28, followed by Griffin Johanson (21:14). Kole Nelson ran a near season best time in 21:39. Blaine Ballentine and Hayden Trenary also had a sprint to the end with Trenary in at 21:49 and Ballentine in at 21:50 and both boys achieving a season best time. In the Reserve race Simon Yarger ran a 25:10 and Izaak Harsin finished in 27:17 with a season best time. The Stars will compete again this Thursday in the Landes Invite at Hamilton Heights.
