Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The WeBo Lady Stars Varsity Soccer team earned a 3–1 win over the Cascade Cadets Tuesday in a Monon Athletic Conference match hosted by WeBo. The victory moved the Stars’ season record to 2–2 and their conference record to 1–1. Western Boone controlled play most of the match and outshot the Cascade 25 to 3. The Stars took the lead 15 minutes into the game from a corner kick set piece that resulted in a goal by Grace Maners, assisted by Lyla Kinsler. Western Boone extended their advantage at the 32-minute mark as Maners’ free kick into the box was finished by Eisley Whiteley to make it 2–0 at the half. Halfway through the second half, Cascade cut into the lead by converting on a penalty kick, but they were unable to score again. Grace Maners then sealed the win with her second goal, a precise 22-yard direct kick that found the corner of the goal. Western Boone is back in action tomorrow when they visit the Tri-West Bruins.
