Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The Stars hosted the North Montgomery Chargers on the pitch Monday night for their first match of their season. The Stars started strong and kept a scoreless game late into the first half. But the Stars were unable to keep their energy level up with the Chargers depth and lost the match 0-6. The Stars were led on defense by Joseph Boddicker and John Schaumberg who broke-up multiple scoring attacks by the Mounties throughout the game. Goalies Griffin Stevens and Scott Parr both had big saves while in goal. On offense, Maddox Linton pushed the ball into the offensive side and gave his teammates shots on goal. Overall, the Stars played well with good energy and strong individual efforts. Expect their young squad to work on improving as a team as they host the Mounties of Southmont on Wednesday.
