8th Grade With a much anticipated season opener, the Stars came out ready to play and brought the heat in the first set, leaving Cascade behind 25-16. However, Cascade came back ready to battle in the second set. Despite a close game, the Stars fell 21-25. In a short third set, the Stars started off strong but ultimately lost momentum against Cascade’s tough serving leaving the stars with a 12-15 loss. Corah Edwards, our setter, led the team in both assists and aces this evening, adding valuable point to the Stars’ score! Our back row showed up and battled hard against Cascade’s tough serves and hits, while our hitters played great at the net with strong tips, blocks, and defense. They worked hard to get the ball started on our side of the court, and from there, our offense was just as impressive! The Stars finished the night with 22 kills, with 7 of those led by outside hitter, Quinn Cunningham! With a few minor tweaks and some more work in the gym, the Stars will be ready to face Cascade’s tough serving again at conference. Now it’s time to get back in the gym and get ready for the next team on Wednesday! Go Stars ⭐️ 7th Grade Western Boone’s 7th grade volleyball team earned a strong 2-set sweep over Cascade. Western Boone controlled both sets from start to finish, winning the first set 25–17 and the second set 25–18. Amelia Stambro led the team with an impressive 7 aces and 5 assists, helping keep the offense moving and putting pressure on Cascade’s defense. Noelle Aguilar also contributed with 5 aces, giving Western Boone a strong serving performance throughout the match.
