Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The Western Boone Lady Stars played two matches Saturday, 8/22/26, at the Lebanon Invitational in very soggy field conditions, and the team battled hard all day with a deep rotation of players. In the morning game, the Stars took control against the Decatur Central Hawks, defeating them 8–0. Along the way, Western Boone’s improved passing and communication helped create cleaner looks offensively and keep the attack moving. The Stars were led by Grace Maners, who scored four goals, while Eisley Whiteley and Makenna Harrison each added a goal and two assists. Brooklyn Vaughn and Alex Muir also contributed with goals as well, helping Western Boone secure the win and advance to the afternoon championship. In the championship match against the host Lebanon Tigers, the Lady Stars again competed through difficult conditions, relying on a back defensive line anchored by senior Kara Culley. While the Tigers ultimately won 4–0, the Stars took away positive momentum from gaining early season experience and will look to build on their sharper team play in a busy upcoming week. Western Boone is now 1–2 on the season. The next game is Tuesday, 8/25/26, when they host the Cascade Cadets for a Monon Athletic Conference matchup, before travelling to Tri-West on Thursday, and back home next Saturday morning to host North Montgomery.
