Western Boone Jr. - Sr. High School

The Junior High B Team started the Monday night double header at Tri-West against their 7th grade. Unfortunately, they were bitten by the error bug in a 17-2 loss. Providing highlights for the Stars were Jo McNamee with two hits, and Kenzie Mikesell and Riley Cervi with a hit each. Cervi made a diving catch for an out in center field, McNamee had an out on a foul ball at catcher, and Mikesell threw from 3rd to McNamee to save a run at home. Addi Gregg pitched 3-2/3 innings and gave up 0 earned runs! In the second game, the A Team came close to matching Tri-West’s 11 hits with 9 of their own. Unfortunately, many of the Bruin hits came with runners on base leading to a 16-9 loss. Kenzie Mikesell went 3 for 3 with two doubles while Sullie Smith went 2 for 3 at the plate. Jo McNamee and Cora Reagan also doubled for the Stars. Others collecting hits were Addi Gregg and Jade Hobson. Jayden Paris started in the circle and pitched the first two inning with a strikeout with Reagan coming in for one inning of relief. A couple of standout defensive plays were catcher Jade Hobson throwing to Smith at first for a pickoff. And Paris from shortstop to Hobson to get the lead runner advancing home. Both teams have their last home games tonight starting with the B Team at 5:30 against Danville.
