JH Track & Field Traveled to Cascade

Western Boone Middle School track athletes put together an outstanding night at their meet against Cascade and Greencastle, showing determination, teamwork, and lots of hard work paying off. The boys' team finished in 1st place with 66 points, while the girls' team earned a strong 2nd place with 48 points in the three-way meet. The night was full of great performances and personal records. Leah Jones had a busy and successful evening, competing in the hurdles, high jump, and long jump. Her effort and focus helped set the tone for the team. In distance events, Kinley Bivens and Bristol McCord both competed in the 2400m, pushing themselves and working hard throughout the race. McCord also contributed to the 4x800 relay and 16000m, helping the team stay competitive from start to finish. Bristol ran a total of three miles last night. The girls 4x400 relay team of Tania Cruz‑Vazquez, Skyler Yarger, Maddy Dillon, and Brooklyn Tatman had a strong performance and gave it their all. In the field events, several athletes celebrated their personal bests. Reagan Byers earned a PR in shot put, while Viktor Miller recorded a PR in discus, showing continued improvement and dedication for both athletes. Caleb Douglas and Molly Rausch also had huge nights for the stars. On the boys’ side, the 4x400 relay team of Ethan Cotton, Kamden Talbert, Viktor Miller, and Drake Wagner all ran well in the final event of the night. Overall, it was a great night for Jr. High Western Boone track. Many athletes achieved personal records, worked hard in their events, and supported their teammates. The effort, attitude, and results made this meet a big success, and the Stars continue to show growth as the season moves forward.
